Welcome to UP author interviews, Aaron! Before we begin, please tell us a little about yourself.

I'm a father of four wonderful children ages; 18, 16, 8, 6. I’ve been a commercial driver for about 14 yes off and on and feel I couldn’t have chosen a better career besides writing because of the freedom and traveling. I have experience in artist management and co- founding a label (S.M.G ent.) But always had the passion for the creative arts so being a manager gave me the inside out perspective on the totality of it all, growth, grooming etc.

Why did you make the decision to become a published author?

It was always something I wanted to do as I said before I always had that passion to create or be a part of it, when my artist passed away it just fueled me to go in and try my best to create unique material and work as hard as I can to take my own place in the literary world.

Oh wow. That is such sad news about your artist, but I'm happy to see you have turned that into a positive light to fulfill your personal dreams. Speaking of what genres do you write or wish to write?

I write fiction and have written, crime thriller, (novella) action series (novellas) and horror.

When it comes to writing, are you a morning person or a night owl?

Mostly, I be so pumped to get these stories down and plots out I try and write whenever.

Tell us a unique writing habit that you have.

Well I don’t know if it’s unique or whatever, but at a point I had so many concepts I wanted to get out I would begin writing one project and jump into another while writing the outline for another and flow back and forth without losing the feel for either.

If you were to write a book about yourself what would you name it? Why?

I was asked this question before and my previous answer was “Play to win” because of past obstacles I’ve overcome, but being here now I think I might name it “long time coming”.

Let's discuss your actual work, that good stuff! Tell us about your current book project?

My current project which is my first published project is titled, “The Wrath” of Tanya Bell, who is a former negotiator and S.E.R.T team member that was In the wrong place at the wrong time and a trafficker planted narcotics in her vehicle and the authorities took it as a drop and she was ultimately arrested, done her time, released and returned home to no pension no career, estranged family and an extortionist that wants his money back from the drugs he lost which sets off a whirlwind of problems for her.

What is your upcoming project about? When will it be released?

My upcoming project is titled “Ghost Rauders” it’s about a brotherhood of sophisticated retrieval experts led by Akio Steele, who return lost heirlooms and other valuable things to people who lost them or take on high-stake robberies if the price is right. They have to fend off rival factions as they work to keep their underworld life a secret from their families.

What makes your writing stand apart from other authors?

I hope it’s just being unique in my writing as a whole and challenging myself in other genres.

What are some of your other aspirations for your writing career?

I really want to write scripts for movies either short films or full-length.

Would you like to collaborate with other authors on a book project?

I would love to at some point if they’re willing to work with me.

Name your top 5 favorite books by indie authors. Why are they your faves?

“Deadly Reigns” by Teri Woods, because of the action suspense and well written dialogue and characters. “Thieves Paradise” By Eric Jerome Dickey, for its street savvy and relate able characters. The Witches list By Andrew Cairn, because of the paranormal element to it. And I would like to read “Rat Hunters”by Aaron Bebo because it sounds interesting to be honest, and would love to read the “Circle of Dominance” series by Alycia Morris because it sound like an intriguing good read.

Now let's find out more about you, Aaron. Outside of writing, what are your favorite past times? Watching sports mostly football and reading, once I get my material situated like I want I will make time to catch up on my reading.

Tell us one thing about you that is a little known fact.

I wanted to be an elementary school teacher at one time in my life, because I believe that’s when children are more precious and impressionable and needs to be nurtured by the right people so they develop great characteristics as they grow.

We know that you're a newer author, but can you please share with us some things you have learned since delving in the business. What is one lesson you’ve learned since becoming a published author?

All the time spent on research, brainstorming and writing hours on end and the solidarity is all worth it when you see it all come together into your own creative masterpiece.

What is one myth about being a published author that you learned and would like to share?

One of the reasons I shied away from pursuing writing early on is because there was this thing that overhangs a lot of people is that you used to have to come from a prestigious background or be a English major in college and have extensive creative writing courses to be a writer/author, don’t get me wrong it all would help but I think most people are capable of creating great bodies of work when it’s done with conviction and a certain level of focus.

Aaron, it has truly been a pleasure to interview you, and we look forward to your future works. Please connect with the author and pick up your copy of his book, "The Wrath" of Tanya Bell!

The Wrath of Tanya Bell

Synopsis

Eight long years after wrongful imprisonment in the Pickens County Federal Prison (Aliceville) for drug trafficking, former Negotiator and (S.E.R.T) Team member of 13 years. Will she be fully rehabilitated? Can she integrate back into society to her former life as a mother and/or wife or will her bottled up anger and hate filled distrust for the law and legal system she once coveted push her over

Ghost Rauder snippet:

The first door was unlocked so Ray slowly twists the knob while listening very closely and as he did so....unexpectedly Someone pulled the door open but he couldn't see them until they leaned around to see who it was they were opening the door for, Ray Being experienced enough knew they were too close for arms so he kicked the door as hard as he could making it slam into the right side of the guy's face and body, then he rushed the occupant against the file cabinet directly behind him and as he did he notices out of his peripheral one of his buddies coming to his rescue...This guy looked at-least 6 foot 4 inches and two hundred fifty plus pounds sprinting towards him with knife in hand, the only thing Ray could do is turn his mate towards him to make it as difficult as possible to reach him, the guy must have read Ray's mind because he left his feet to come over the top of his rag-doll of a co-hort and K-G sent him 2 rounds making him do a perfect pirouette to end his rescue mission.

Once they had the guy alone in the room they were willing to do anything to him to make the job go as smooth as possible from here on out. One head butt to the Bridge of the Doorman's nose & he was willing to tell them if he danced in the mirror to Beyoncé’s songs!
