Author Interview-Fall in Love with the Serene Chaos of Author C. Monet

Welcome to Untamed Publishing's Author Interviews! As a company that caters to the self-published author, we want to highlight and support indie authors. There is a vast array of talent amongst us, and here's the opportunity to connect the readers to their next favorite author! This year we have an all new round of writers from all genres so let's saddle in and have an Untamable 2018!

This interview features, Author C. Monet. She didn't crumble when it comes to her writing dreams! In this Untamable interview, we'll learn more about this phenom of Urban Romance!

Hi C. Monet! Let me first say it is an honor to have you interview with UP. Welcome to the UP HOT SEAT! Before we begin, please tell us a little about yourself.

My name is Chasity Snow and I write under the pen name of Author C. Monet. I am currently signed to NakoExpo Presents and set to release my 3rd book soon. Born and raised in Clarksville, TN, my love of reading sparked the move to writing. My family and friends are my life and they are my biggest supporters. I love 80’s music, reading, and lounging around with my 2 kids and husband.

Awesome! That is a wonderful feeling when your family and friends earnestly supports your dreams. Although reading sparked your interest in writing, why did you decide to become a published author?

I was nearing 30 and I felt like I hadn’t really accomplished anything for myself, so I started really praying about my purpose. I started blogging and then boom the story came to my head.

I love the variety. Many authors started writing extremely young, so it's a beautiful thing to see someone transition into the craft. What genres do you write or wish to write?

I write Urban Romance but I would love to branch out to Paranormal.

Ooh Paranormal. Step outside of the box! Wanting to write in the paranormal genre might be a tell-tell sign, but when it comes to writing, are you a morning person or a night owl?

I am a night owl completely. When the house is still and quiet I get my best writing done.

Yes, I can see that. The interest in paranormal kind of gave it away, lol. We're going to keep the train rolling with learning more about you as an author. So please, tell us a unique writing habit that you have.

When I’m writing I must have music playing doesn’t matter the genre or the song if music is in the background.

What makes your writing stand apart from other authors?

I think the fact that some of what I write has really happened to me sets me apart.

If you were to write a book about yourself what would you name it? Why?

“Did You Think I’d Crumble” which is my first released book. I decided on that name because I truly feel like those that wronged me thought that I would crumble and I didn’t.

Kudos to you! That's right and your writing surely has stood the test as well! Speaking of, let's go ahead and dive into your works. Tell us about your current book project?

To elaborate, my current project is a complete series by the name of “Did You Think I’d Crumble”. It’s a 2-part series that details the life of Cheyanne Baltimore, married into a prominent family with money and secrets. She marries her somewhat high school sweetheart. Life happens and secrets start to reveal themselves as well as secrets within her own family and she must decide if she wants to be happy or wealthy.

Alright! Love a juicy book! Since you've peaked our interest with your first book, please tell us what your upcoming project is about? When will it be released?

“Serene Chaos” is up next and I think this project really shows the growth as a writer. Serene is a young girl dealing with the death of the love of her life in the completely wrong way. She has a secret vice and her ex is on the brink of exposing her secret life. She has dreams and goals but as soon as she gets close to grabbing them tragedy strikes again.

Yes, readers! Make sure you go grab these two spicy reads! Now that you've delved into writing, what are some of your other aspirations for your writing career?

I would love to screen write and have a super series, that’s tells a story over a mass amount of series. Kind of like Harry Potter.

Would you like to collaborate with other authors on a book project?

I would love to collaborate with Love Belvin at some point. She is amazing and I love her work.

So let's find out a little about you as a person, C. Monet. Since your first love was reading, tell us your top 5 favorite books by indie authors. Why are they your faves?

“The Carter Boys” by Desiree she is so talented and I aspire to be on her level.

“In Love with a Brooklyn Thug” by Nako. She is extremely talented and dedicated. She works hard on her consistency. I also appreciate how she branches out to other things. She is dedicated to highlighting woman that are bosses.

“The Gentlewoman” by Enitan Bereola. This book pushed me in the right direction as far as my womanhood. From the first page to the last page you won’t be able to put it down.

“Thugs Love” by Jessica Watkins was one of the first books I read when I started back. She is talented and I was in love with her care free crazy female characters.

“The Wayward Love” series by Love Belvin. She is a romance novel guru. She literally can write about everything. She makes you want to grab a dictionary and learn some stuff. She’s great. But this book and all her others dive deep into love and the changes people go through when in love. It shows the things that we will do for that love.

Outside of writing, what are your favorite past times?

I love watching old movies and painting.

Tell us one thing about you that is a little-known fact.

I’m left handed, so I either feel weird about it or special.

Before we go, we want to get some author advice from you to help others. What is one lesson you’ve learned since becoming a published author?

As a published author, I have learned that my skin wasn’t as tough as I originally thought. Readers are rough sometimes.

What is one myth about being a published author that you learned and would like to share?

The one myth I learned is that writing isn’t the end in and the beginning. You must put yourself out there promote, get creative, and get to know people. I read somewhere that a book that’s not promoted doesn’t exist and it’s true. New authors don’t wake up and have a million followers.

C. Monet, it was a pleasure to interview you. We look forward to your future works! Please connect with the author and check out her books, “Did You Think I'd Crumble" and "Serene Chaos".
